Abound provides people with an acquired brain injury, acquired disability or neurological condition to:
- participate in low cost recreational, leisure and social activities;
- meet people and make new friends;
- develop new skills in a variety of venues in the local community including Neighbourhood Houses and Community Centres.
The Abound service:
- Provides a range of activities in the areas of skill acquisition, continuing education, vocational training, recreation and leisure, social and community support within the local environment;
- Develops partnerships between disability-specific services, local organisations, generic services and communities to increase participation of people living with a disability in their local community;
- Supports the pursuit of paid work as a powerful and valued option where possible and to the fullest extent for each person;
- Encourages everyone we support to reach their full potential;
- Empowers people to live fulfilling lives and to become fully included in their community;
- Celebrates the worth and contributions of each individual; and
- Strengthens opportunities to educate and engage the local community about health and community services.
You can use your Individualised Support Package to purchase supports:
- Throughout the day to participate in Visions group activities or;
- At any time 24 hours a day, 7 days a week to obtain individual supports through Self Directed Support; and
- From Abound to assist you to link with recreational, rehabilitation and leisure opportunities.
