Directions Carer’s Initiative
Directions provides flexible options for a person with a disability who lives at home with a carer to enhance their quality of life.
Directions supports people between the ages of 18 to 65 years of age who:
- have an acquired brain injury (ABI); intellectual, physical/sensory disability or neurological impairment
- live in the eastern metropolitan region of Melbourne
Directions aims to support clients and carers by funding services for the person with a disability. This provides an opportunity for planned and regular respite.
Directions works closely with the person with the disability, their carer, case manager and other agencies to plan, coordinate and fund activities. Services that can be purchased may include:
- attendant care
- transport assistance
- day programs
- health services
- recreation and leisure
- respite
- education programs
- techology and aides
- other carer supports
Directions is a brokerage and support service funded under the Victorian Government's "Carer's Initiative".
