National Quality Council ushers in new Training Qualification

A new qualification called the Certificate IV in Training and Education (TAE10) has been endorsed by the National Quality Council on 5 May 2010.

This means the new training qualification TAE will replace the Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (TAA04) over the coming months. The TAE will be implemented under a transitional arrangement yet to be announced.

Trainers and assessors currently practising within the VET sector and holding the TAA are not required to upgrade to the TAE Certificate IV in Training and Assessment and will be considered as holding the equivalent qualification for the purposes of compliance with AQTF Element 1.4 of Standard 1. No new enrolments in Certificate IV in TAA will be allowed from May 2011.

The TAA qualification will remain an active training package for the purposes of supporting the Diploma of Training and Assessment (TAA50104) until it has completed a review process later this year.

It is the intention of EACH Training to apply for TAE10 soon with any further changes relevant to the implementation of this course to be updated on this website.

If you are currently undertaking TAA or intending to do so prior to May 2011 that your qualification will receive the same recognition as the new TAE. It is envisaged that while the TAE will replace the Certificate IV TAA it will not necessarily articulate nor will it replace the Diploma of TAA. For further information contact Darrell Hinga.
