Groundwork was established in 1989 as a Specialist Employment Service to assist people managing a disability to find employment. Our qualified staff work with people who are able and enthusiastic to return to work. Groundwork helps both employees and employers using their extensive employment network service.
Employees
Groundwork is a quality disability employment network service that assists people with a disability find employment then provides ongoing support to help sustain employment.
Groundwork:
- has professional and highly skilled staff trained in working with people with mental health and general disabilities to help achieve your employment goals.
- assists people from the age of 15 who have an identified disability and want to work.
- encourages you to pursue the occupation of your choice.
- is a free service.
Groundwork provides professional, personalised and customised service to help you achieve the following:
- establish employment goal
- identify skills and abilities
- determine training needs
- training in job search skills and interview techniques
- develop customised resumes and job applications
- find employment in your preferred occupation
- maintain employment with the support of Groundwork staff to settle into your new job.
A Job Capacity Assessment will ascertain your eligibility, after which a referral to Groundwork can occur. Jobseekers can also enquire directly at any Groundwork office.
Employers
Groundwork can assist you to find suitable staff, meet your staff training needs and provide ongoing support. We currently have clients looking for work and can assist in filling your vacancies.
How we can help you?
Groundwork can help you employ suitable staff for your workplace. Our job seekers come from diverse employment backgrounds including retail, hospitality, administration, accounts, IT, labouring and manufacturing.
In addition to connecting you with experienced reliable, enthusiastic workers, Groundwork can also provide a range of assistance to help with the employment process.
Examples of incentives are:
Wage Subsidies: We can assist with the wage costs of employees during the initial training / probationary period.
Employer and Employee Support: Groundwork staff are committed to supporting both employers and employees. To ensure a smooth transition into employment we can assist the employer and our clients in understanding work procedures and requirements. This can happen at any time deemed necessary.
Community Exposure: Groundwork has strong connections with local area newspapers and can actively promote your business following the employment of our clients.
