Golden Wattle House plans and runs social and recreational activities for older frail and isolated people, and older people with a disability. Golden Wattle House provides social and recreational activities in a supported and non-threatening group environment.

The participants have considerable opportunity to provide ideas for the program of activities through community forums. The staff then organise the monthly program which is circulated to participants and community organisations as well as being available on the EACH website.

Golden Wattle House is staffed by qualified care attendants including experienced volunteers. Together we strive to achieve quality outcomes.

What we do

Staff plan daily activities with the participants based on people’s interests as well as their needs. Activities include:

• Outings
• Concerts
• Shopping
• Art group
• Men’s shed
• Guest speakers
• ‘Well for life’ program
• Visitation service for carers and clients

Where

golden wattle house operates from a purpose-built homestead in Healesville with glorious views of the Yarra Valley and the Great Dividing Range.

When

The program runs from Monday to Friday and once a month on a Saturday.

Transport

Transport is provided by our two buses which have hoists for wheelchairs.

Cost

Fees are based on HACC guidelines and people’s ability to pay.
