State and Regional Data
Victorian Population Health Survey:
The Victorian Population Health Survey program was established in 1998 to provide State and regional information about the health of Victorians and determinants of that health. The survey followed an established method to collect relevant, timely and valid health information to be applied to policy development and strategic planning.
Interviews were conducted in the major non-English languages in Victoria to ensure people of culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds were represented.
The latest report is the seventh in an ongoing annual series and trends are presented for selected indicators in the health risk profile of the adult population for the years 2001 to 2007.
Fact sheets for each Region and Victoria as a whole are also available at the Public Health website. The fact sheets present a snapshot of the findings for the survey for self-rated health; body mass index; health checks for blood pressure and cholesterol; eye protection; smoking levels; fruit and vegetable intake; alcohol consumption and physical activity.
