Health Promotion Projects

External work undertaken by the HP team:

Collaborative Partnership with Bayswater Nth Community Renewal Project

This includes an advisory role regarding its evaluation, building advocacy skills for community members and coordinating community kitchens in this catchment.

Health Promoting Schools

The team has a three year partnership agreement with Bayswater Nth PS, Maroondah Secondary, Tinternvale Primary School.

Culturally and Linguistically Diverse Projects (CALD)

  • Family Violence Project
  • Eastern Refugee Health Service Access Training
  • Developing needs assessments across CALD Communities
  • Partnership building with The Migrant Information Centre, Australian Multicultural Education Service, Local Governments and the Migrant Settlement Committee
  • Nutrition and Secondary Schools in the East Project
  • Increasing participation in Sport & Recreation for CALD Communities.

Provide support for EACH staff around ‘working in a health promoting way’ through...

  • Participating in steering committees/ working groups
  • Planning and evaluation assistance
  • Providing guidance and assistance with research questions and funding submissions

Cultural Awareness

Working to enhance the capacity of staff to continue in meeting the needs of CALD communities they work with.

Examples of work in this area include: Staff Needs Assessments, Cultural Awareness Training, key partnership development.

Planning, implementing and evaluation of quarterly EACH Showcase’s Events

Where staff have the opportunity to learn more about the programs and projects taking place across the organisation, be part of valuable internal networking and giving recognition to the great work taking place at EACH. It aims to support the dissemination of learning’s accrued across the organisation and assist to develop and share the evidence base for action in the areas of advocacy, strengthening community action, development of personal skills/support and reorientating health services towards prevention.
