Sensory Seeking & Substance Use Workshops

Understand individual sensory processing profile & relationship to Alcohol and Other Drug (AOD) use and mental health.

We are hosting a series of workshops that will explore sensory approaches to relapse prevention including sensory profiling and elements of Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT) and mindfulness.

Topics include:

  • Understanding sensory system
  • Warning signs & triggers
  •  Distress tolerance
  • Individual sensory profile
  • Soothing & grounding techniques
  • Developing sensory strategies
  • Exploring relationship to AOD from an alternate perspective

Workshop details:

Starting date: Tuesday 6 August 2019 – 4.00pm to 5.30pm (4 consecutive weeks)

Who: Young people aged 16 to 25.

Location: EACH, 46 Warrandyte Road, Ringwood – Building B.
