Our programs will give you an opportunity to make new friends, stay active and partake in a range of different activities and social outings.
Centre Based Respite Outer East provides promotes social interaction and skill development for the frail aged, people with memory loss or dementia.
In the course of running these activities, this also provides respite for carers and families knowing that their loved one is out enjoying themselves for the day in a supportive environment.
This program offers:
MONDAY GROUP (WEEKLY): This is a weekly group outing where we have morning tea at Degani’s Café at the Lilydale Market Place Shopping Centre, with a chance to do some shopping afterwards if you like. After morning tea we head off to a lunch venue within the Yarra Valley. We go to different lunch venues each week. The Monday group is great for those who are on more of a budget but still want to get out for the day to socialise over a nice meal together. You are required to provide your own drinks and lunch money. Some transport is available to pick you up & drop you off from your home however this is dependent on location/distance/priority. Transport to cafes and lunch venues however is provided.
TUESDAY GROUP (FORTNIGHTLY): There are TWO Tuesday Groups. Each one is run fortnightly. You can join both Tuesday Groups if you like so you can participate weekly, or you can join just the one Tuesday Group and come fortnightly. We go out for morning tea and a café of the group’s choice. This is a great way to go for a lovely drive around the Yarra Valley and try different cafes each fortnight. After morning tea we head off to a lunch venue. The fortnightly Tuesday groups offer more ‘high end’ venues to eat at, including wineries etc. Therefore lunches may be a bit more expensive than the Monday Group. You are required to provide your own drinks and lunch money. Some transport is available to pick you up & drop you off from your home however this is dependent on location/distance/priority. Transport to cafes and lunch venues however is provided.
THURSDAY GROUP (WEEKLY): This is a weekly ‘in-house’ social activities group ran from EACH’s Golden Wattle site in Healesville. Participants are given a chance to build friendships; share skills, hobbies & interests; be creative; have fun; participate in activities such as art, craft, gentle exercise, reminiscing, musical afternoons, short walks, guest speakers, games, trivia plus more. Lunch is provided. Some transport is available however this is dependent on location/distance/priority.
