Every child deserves a healthy smile!
Smile Squad is the exciting new State Government program that will provide free, high quality dental care to all Victorian public primary and secondary school students.
Students will quickly become familiar with the bright orange Smile Squad fleet, smart uniforms, approachable staff and the great customer care they provide.
Smile Squad is set to improve the oral health of more than 650,000 children, saving families both time and money, and all without having to leave the school grounds.
The delivery of the Smile Squad program is being managed by Dental Health Services Victoria (DHSV) who are supporting more than 50 community dental agencies across Victoria to implement the program.
EACH is pleased to be rolling out Smile Squad services to schools in the Yarra Ranges, Cardinia, Maroondah and Knox areas.
Smile Squad dental vans will provide free examinations and treatment including teeth cleaning, fluoride applications, fillings and any other non-cosmetic treatments to make sure our young people have healthy teeth.
The Smile Squad vans are staffed by experienced oral health therapists, dental therapists, dental assistants and dentists. They all have extensive experience treating children and a passion for improving their oral health – for life.
We all know oral disease is one of the most common and expensive diseases to treat, but it is also the most preventable. That’s why Smile Squad has a strong focus on early prevention and education.
Once a parent provides consent, the Smile Squad team will then check their child’s teeth and mouth and show them how to keep their teeth healthy and strong. They will also provide any preventive services that have been consented for.
It won’t matter if a student is visiting an examination van in rural Victoria or a treatment van in central Melbourne – they will have a similar experience, wherever they are.
If you would like to receive dental services from Smile Squad, please contact the Smile Squad at smilesquad@dhhs.vic.gov.au or visit www.smilesquad.vic.gov.au for more information. A Smile Squad representative from your local community dental health agency will contact you from Term 2 2021 to discuss the commencement of services in your school.
