Arts therapy is the use of arts and creativity to improve our social, emotional and physical wellness. We can explore who we are and better understand ourselves and our relationships.
An Arts Therapist will support a person to explore and express their experiences in a safe and confidential environment. A range of processes including visual arts (eg. painting, collage and drawing), movement, writing, and discussion, provide opportunities to express emotions and thoughts in a creative way.
Our Counselling and Support Team are offering up to 12 FREE sessions through phone or video-conferencing (eg. Zoom), and happy to discuss which works best for you.
Benefits may include:
- Expressing feelings that are difficult to verbalise
- Increasing confidence and self-expression
- Improving social skills through positive interactions
- Promoting relaxation and reducing stress
- Developing coping skills for life transitions, grief and loss, anxiety and depression
- Working through trauma and personal issues
No art experience is required as the emphasis is on the experience and process of creating, rather than the final product.
