Great Ryrie Primary School recently hosted a Health & Wellbeing Parent Information Session and invited our Oral Health and Health Promotion teams to attend and chat to parents about oral health, healthy eating and also gender equity – topics that are high on the school’s priority list.
With more than half of all Victorian school-aged children requiring fillings or removal, Great Ryrie wants to ensure that parents make informed choices when it comes to their children’s eating and oral health practices. A focus on gender equity has been promoting children’s individuality by not limiting their choices in life.
Information nights are a great way to promote health and wellbeing messages, especially in the younger formative years of a child’s life, while also linking families to local services.
