Here at EACH, we are proud to join with The Centre for Excellence in Child & Family Welfare and a host of Victorian child and family services to call on the Prime Minister to permanently raise the rate of social security payments above the poverty line to ensure families have what they need to provide for their children.
Poverty presents a range of risks to children and families, such as food insecurity, insecure or unsuitable housing, limited opportunities, and social exclusion. These risk factors can lead to poorer physical health, mental health, academic achievement, and overall wellbeing.
