NEW & exciting opportunity to be part of our Mental Health, Alcohol & Other Drugs & Suicide Prevention service in Queensland!
Each is leading the Better Connect program – an exciting new initiative providing integrated, person-centred care across Central Queensland, Wide Bay, and the Sunshine Coast. We're looking for a Senior Stepped Care Coordinator to join our dynamic team and play a crucial role in shaping this groundbreaking community mental health and AOD model!
- 1FTE: Full-time ongoing position.
- CQ Region: Our offices are located at Rockhampton, Hervey Bay, Emerald and Gympie.
- Working conditions: Hybrid / Remote.
- Salary: $107 - $111K pa + Super + Not-for-Profit Salary Packaging up to $18,550
THE JOB
Are you passionate about mental health, AOD, and suicide prevention services? Do you have the skills to lead a clinical team, ensure quality care, and build meaningful relationships with key partners? We’re looking for a dynamic leader to join our Stepped Care Team!
Responsibilities include:
- Leadership: Provide leadership and day-to-day oversight of a small team of Stepped Care Coordinators, supporting their professional development and ensuring quality service delivery.
- Guide collaborative care: Support & oversee care planning, transitions, and team reviews.
- Build relationships: Maintain strong connections with hub partners and service pathways.
- Partner with lived experience team: Collaborate with the Better Connect lived experience team for community responses.
- Train team members: Provide training, supervision and support in screening and assessing complex clients.
- Share referral knowledge: Guide on mental health referral pathways.
- Provide support: Offer high-quality engagement in AOD, mental health, and suicide prevention services.
- Foster provider relationships: Ensure continuity of care with Better Connect providers.
- Conduct audits and reports: Perform audits and submit reports for quality assurance and training needs.

The ideal candidate will have:
- Expertise in Mental Health & AOD: A solid foundation in mental health services with comprehensive knowledge of relevant systems and legislation.
- Leadership & Clinical Governance: Experience leading teams, ensuring strong clinical governance, and upholding high standards of care.
- Commitment to Cultural Safety & Trauma-Informed Care: A deep commitment to cultural safety and applying trauma-informed, person-centred practices.
- Strong Collaboration & Relationship Building: Exceptional interpersonal skills with a proven ability to build and maintain professional relationships across multiple services and disciplines.
- Critical Thinking & Problem-Solving: Strong analytical skills to address complex challenges and deliver effective solutions for client care.
Qualifications
- Tertiary qualifications in Social Work, Health and/or Welfare related sector.
- A maintained relevant annual registration and/or membership of professional body (preferred).
- Current state-based driver’s license.
