  • Part-time 0.5 FTE until June 2026, flexibility to work across Mon, Tues, Fri & Sat 

  • Based in Doncaster, on the lands of the Wurundjeri People  

  • $44.78 per hour negotiable + 12% Super + Generous Salary Packaging benefits of up to $18,550    

Starting out in life isn’t always easy. Our Manningham Youth Services team supports young people aged 12–25 who live, work or study in Manningham to connect with opportunities and find their path. We offer individual support, programs and events that build community, and connections to local services – all from a safe and welcoming hub space. This free service is shaped around what matters most to each young person. 

Your role, your impact 

As a Youth Engagement Worker, you'll help create a welcoming, inclusive space at the Manningham Youth Hub. You'll engage with young people, run group programs, and link individuals to the right local supports. As part of the Youth Services team, you'll contribute to program delivery, service operations, and community engagement. 

Key responsibilities include: 

  • Welcoming young people and facilitating meaningful engagement at the Youth Hub 

  • Designing and delivering group programs, including with external partners 

  • Providing individual support and linking young people to relevant services 

  • Supporting intake, referrals, and data collection 

  • Collaborating with the team on scheduling and problem-solving 

  • Taking on a specialist portfolio area (e.g. LGBTIQ+, Schools, ATOD) 

  • Attending stakeholder meetings and contributing to team development 

  • Working flexibly, including some evenings and weekends

Who we’re looking for 

You’re passionate about youth work and thrive in a dynamic environment where no two days are the same. You bring strong communication skills, a growth mindset, and the ability to build rapport quickly with young people from diverse backgrounds. 

You will have: 

  • A qualification in Youth Work (Certificate or above) or a related field 

  • Experience working with young people (highly desirable) 

  • An understanding of referral pathways and the tensions young people face in areas like education, employment, family, and identity 

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, and the ability to contribute to reporting and promote services 

  • Great problem-solving, organisational and time management skills 

  • Willingness to work flexibly, including some evening and weekend shifts 

  • Confidence using computers and Microsoft Office suite
