  • Multiple part-time 0.6FTE positions until the end of June 2026
  • Based from our headspace Narre Warren & Pakenham sites
  • Support young people and families navigating the mental health system
  • $38.83 - $42.40ph + Super + generous Salary Packaging benefits of up to $18,550

Are you passionate about supporting young people and their families in navigating mental health and wellbeing?
headspace Casey Cardinia is seeking a dedicated Youth Worker to join our Intake & Brief Intervention Team.

In this role, you’ll be the first point of contact for young people accessing our service. You’ll provide early engagement, intake support, brief case coordination, psychoeducation, and practical support – all through a recovery-focused, strengths-based approach.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Intake assessments, outreach, and follow-up calls
  • Psychoeducation and short-term support for young people and families
  • Warm referrals and advocacy to connect young people with appropriate services
  • Sharing “while you wait” options and resources
  • Supporting group programs and resource development
  • Contributing to service improvement and multidisciplinary teamwork
  • Maintaining accurate notes in Each’s systems (e.g. HAPI, Episoft)
  • Participating in community engagement activities

Who we're looking for 
We’re seeking someone with a genuine passion for youth mental health and experience working with young people with diverse and complex needs.

To be successful, you will have:

  • A minimum Certificate IV qualification in Youth Work (or similar field)
  • Experience working with young people aged 12–25 with mental health challenges
  • Strong understanding of adolescent development and youth mental health
  • Experience in engaging young people, families, and stakeholders using a recovery-focused, culturally safe approach
  • Excellent communication, coordination, and problem-solving skills
  • A current state-based Driver’s Licence
  • Experience in service navigation, group program delivery, or telehealth modalities will be highly regarded.
