Your Role, Your Impact
As a Mental Health Coach, you’ll support families and friends of young people aged 12–25 who are navigating mental health challenges. You’ll be the first point of contact for many, helping them understand available services, reduce barriers to access, and coordinate care.
You’ll:
- Conduct intake assessments via phone or in-person to reduce wait times and improve service access.
- Provide psychoeducation, advocacy, and practical support to families and friends.
- Work closely with internal teams and external services to ensure coordinated, culturally safe care.
- Facilitate workshops and contribute to community engagement activities as needed.
- Maintain accurate records and contribute to service improvement through data and feedback.
Who We’re Looking For
We’re looking for someone with hands-on experience supporting young people and their families through mental health challenges. You’ll need to be confident in intake, assessment, and care coordination, and comfortable working across diverse communities.
To be successful, you’ll bring:
- Experience working with young people and families, including CALD, LGBTIQA+, and at-risk groups.
- Skills in mental health assessment, risk management, and therapeutic support.
- A Certificate IV in Mental Health or Mental Health Peer Work (or equivalent).
- Strong communication, time management, and teamwork skills.
- A current Working With Children Check, Criminal History Check, and Driver’s Licence.
