Lead with purpose across Queensland’s mental health system – shaping outcomes for communities and service partners.
Each leads the Better Connect Consortium – a place-based mental health, AOD, and psychosocial support initiative spanning the Sunshine Coast, Wide Bay, and Central Queensland regions. We’re looking for a values-driven and adaptable leader to take the reins as General Manager, supporting service partners to deliver innovative, community-led care.
Your role. Your impact.
The General Manager will lead Each’s work within the Better Connect Consortium, driving a new way of working through transformational leadership and strong partnerships. This role’s primary focus is on managing the strategic relationship with the Better Connect Consortium, CCQ Primary Health Network and with other health & community services, to deliver high-quality mental health, alcohol and other drugs, suicide prevention and psychosocial support services. The position will oversee service integration, stakeholder engagement, and program performance, ensuring community needs are met through innovative, collaborative approaches across the region.
This pivotal leadership role requires strategic thinking, clinical understanding, and the ability to build trust and alignment across diverse communities, providers, and government stakeholders. It is a unique opportunity to lead a nationally significant consortium with state-level visibility and local impact. Reporting to the Executive Director – Strategic Partnerships, you’ll:
- Provide strategic and operational leadership across a nine-partner consortium supporting mental health, AOD, and psychosocial services
- Chair or co-chair the CCQ Governance Group, strengthening shared purpose and accountability
- Ensure contractual, financial, and reporting requirements are met for our funder and for Each
- Lead a high-performing team of Program Managers across multiple service streams
- Strengthen partnerships and influence change across the sector - including PHNs, public health services, and regional stakeholders
- Promote a culture of collaboration, cultural safety, and continuous improvement
- Step in, step up, and step sideways - bringing clinical insight and adaptive leadership to every level of the work
Who we’re looking for
You’re an experienced health or community leader with the confidence to navigate complex systems, influence across agencies, and guide a capable team with care. You’ll also bring:
- Tertiary qualifications in Health, Social Work, Psychology, or similar
- Clinical experience or understanding of both acute and community service models
- Strong skills in contract management, governance, and stakeholder engagement
- Experience managing multi-agency or regional programs
- A current state-based driver’s licence and ability to travel locally and regionally
- A genuine commitment to inclusive, place-based mental health care

At Each, we’ll support you to thrive with:
✔ A leadership role with strategic visibility and local impact
✔ Flexibility to be based from QLD’s Sunshine Coast, Wide Bay or Central QLD regions
✔ Not-for-profit salary packaging – Boost your take-home pay by up to $18,550 tax-free
✔ Autonomous, purpose-driven work – Lead in a role that makes real change
