From $51.23 per hour + 12% Super + Generous Salary Packaging benefits of up to $18,550

About the Program
The program aims to support families impacted by substance use. Our multidisciplinary team works collaboratively to deliver therapeutic counselling, group programs, and outreach, helping families navigate complex challenges with compassion and expertise.

Your role, your impact

As a Family Focus Clinician, you will deliver therapeutic counselling and support to individuals, couples, and families affected by a loved one’s alcohol or other drug use. You’ll help families understand substance use, improve communication, regulate emotions, set boundaries, and address grief and loss. Your work will have a direct impact on strengthening families and building resilience in the community.

Key responsibilities:

  • Deliver therapeutic counselling and support to individuals, couples, and families using a harm reduction, trauma-informed, and strengths-based approach
  • Facilitate flexible service delivery through whole-family sessions, couples counselling, or individual counselling
  • Develop and facilitate group programs including psychoeducation and therapeutic support groups
  • Provide brief interventions during moments of acute need, crisis, or transition
  • Conduct outreach to engage and support clients facing barriers to accessing services
  • Promote services and group programs through community outreach in schools, AOD services, and partner agencies
  • Conduct comprehensive assessments to identify client needs, strengths, risks, and treatment goals
  • Collaborate with AOD clinicians, mental health professionals, and other support services to provide integrated care
  • Facilitate referrals to broader health services offered by Each
  • Monitor program effectiveness and contribute to service development
  • Complete timely and comprehensive case notes and documentation in line with organisational and clinical governance requirements
  • Participate in scheduled after-hours work (evening counselling sessions or group facilitation)

Who we’re looking for

  • Proven experience working with families impacted by AOD use
  • Degree level qualification (or higher) in Counselling
  • Qualification in Alcohol and Other Drugs (AOD) Skill Set
  • Current state-based driver’s license without restrictions

What will make you stand out

  • Postgraduate qualifications in Family Therapy
  • Qualifications in Social Work, Psychology, or an Advanced Diploma in AOD
  • Familiarity with the not-for-profit or health sector
