  • Location:  Based in and around the Toowoomba (homelands of the Jagera, Giabal, and Jarowair peoples) area with outreach required
  • Salary: $51.23 - $61per hour depending on quals & experience + 12% Super

Join a passionate, multidisciplinary team delivering person-centred mental health care as part of the new Toowoomba Integrated Mental Health Hub, an innovative partnership between Each, Wellways, Lumsden Psychology, QPASTT and Goondir Health Services.
 

Your role, your impact
As a Counsellor in the Toowoomba Integrated Mental Health Hub, you’ll provide accessible, person-centred, and trauma-informed counselling and wellbeing support.
Within a multidisciplinary team, support individuals and families to achieve their mental health and wellbeing goals through evidence-based interventions, psychoeducation, and integrated care.
Key responsibilities:

  • Provide one-to-one and group counselling using evidence-based approaches such as CBT, ACT, mindfulness, motivational interviewing, and relaxation strategies.
  • Conduct intake and wellbeing assessments to inform individual support plans.
  • Build strong therapeutic relationships, support collaborative decision-making, and empower clients in goal setting and recovery planning.
  • Provide psychoeducation, brief interventions, and crisis response where appropriate.
  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to ensure coordinated, holistic, and culturally safe care.
  • Strengthen relationships with community organisations and consortia partners to support seamless referral pathways.
  • Maintain accurate and timely client documentation in line with quality and compliance standards.

Who we’re looking for

  • Experience working in relevant sectors.
  • Demonstrated ability to provide evidence-based interventions (e.g. CBT, ACT, mindfulness, motivational interviewing).
  • Comprehensive knowledge of mental health services, the not-for-profit and health and wellbeing sector, with awareness of industry-specific needs and compliance requirements.
  • Experience conducting wellbeing or mental health assessments and supporting people experiencing moderate to complex challenges.
  • Strong understanding of trauma-informed and recovery-oriented practice.

Qualifications

  • Relevant qualification in Counselling, Social Work, Psychology, Occupational Therapy, or related discipline.
  • Registration or membership with a relevant professional body (e.g. ACA, PACFA, AASW)
