Job Description

  • 0.4 FTE (flexible days) maternity cover position until end of June 2026
  • Working across Epping & Knox locations, on the lands of the Wurundjeri people
  • Above award hourly rate + 12% super + generous salary packaging benefits of up to $18,550

At Each, we care deeply about young people – and we’re looking for a passionate Consultant Psychiatrist to join our Youth Enhanced Service (YES) team to support young people aged 12–25 with complex mental health needs. This is an exciting opportunity to lead clinical innovation, shape service delivery, and make a meaningful difference in the lives of young people and their families.

This role is not your typical psychiatry position – it’s collaborative, consultative, and deeply embedded in community-based mental health support. You’ll work alongside a multi-disciplinary team of clinicians, senior leaders, and partner services to deliver psychiatric expertise and ensure every young person receives the support they need to thrive.

Whether you're seeking flexibility, purpose-driven work, or the chance to help evolve an innovative mental health model – we want to hear from you.

Your impact will include:

  • Providing expert secondary consultations to clinicians on diagnosis, formulation, and treatment options
  • Delivering primary psychiatric assessments, including treatment recommendations and medication prescribing
  • Supporting service navigation and liaison with Public Mental Health Services to improve access and outcomes for young people
  • Contributing to clinical leadership across the YES team, including quality care planning, governance input, and evidence-based practice
  • Collaborating closely with internal leadership, including the YES Manager, Clinical Coordinators and Each Clinical Lead, to deliver an integrated service approach

What you’ll bring:

  • Registration with AHPRA and Fellowship of the RANZCP (or equivalent)
  • Advanced Training in Child & Adolescent Psychiatry (or close to completion)
  • Deep clinical experience with young people aged 12–25, including risk, diagnosis, and treatment management
  • Strong collaboration skills and an ability to work across systems – including GPs, schools, families, and health services
  • Confidence in delivering clinical supervision, service innovation, and quality improvement
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a high-performing team

What’s in it for you
At Each you’ll be supported to be your best. We provide:

  • Supportive & inclusive culture – Work with like-minded colleagues and leaders who genuinely care
  • Balance your way – Flexible work arrangements to help you juggle work and life commitments
  • Competitive salary – Based on your experience, plus above-award conditions and generous leave options
  • Boost your take-home pay – Not-for-Profit Salary Packaging (up to $15,900 tax-free per year) plus an extra $2,650 tax-free for meals and entertainment
  • Professional development & training – Access mentoring, supervision, leadership pathways, and discipline-specific learning
  • Free, confidential support – Our Employee Assistance Program is available for you and your family
