Communities across the northern region of Melbourne can expect to receive better access to integrated social and community health services when a proposed merger between Your Community Health and EACH takes place in early 2020.
Following several months of discussions, the Boards of Your Community Health and EACH have reached an in-principle decision to merge, subject to member approval, and legal and financial advice.
“Together we will provide an integrated range of community health services and will be better positioned to ensure inclusive, accessible services are made available for all people in our community, especially those who face barriers when accessing services,” said Penny Anderson, CEO of Your Community Health.
Peter Ruzyla, CEO of EACH and Ms Anderson, are confident the merged organisation will continue to offer clients the community-based, personalised service they have come to expect from both organisations with the added benefits of a more extensive network of social and community health programs and locations.
“Both organisations have long and proud histories of providing community health services and enjoy strong connections to their local communities. The proposed merger will allow a sustainable future for the merged entity and also enable us to advocate with a more effective voice in the health and community sector,” Mr. Ruzyla commented.
Staff at both Your Community Health and EACH have been advised that the due diligence process has commenced, headed by a transition committee with equal representation from both organisations. Both organisations are committed to ensuring that there will be no interruption to service for clients during the transition period.
