Killara House is a welcoming and inclusive home-like centre that offers social, recreational, and leisure activities for people living with memory loss challenges, or who require support to engage in social activities. The Killara program also enables Carers of participants to relax and have peace of mind while they have a break from caring.

This program offers:

* Enjoyable and innovative centre based programs that reflect the interests and preferances of our participants.

* Theme, calendar, cultural and celebration days

* Excursions to community destinations and events

* Gentle exercise sessions

* Art and craft activities

* Guest speakers and performers

* Gardening

* Discussions, games and quizzes

Who can access this program?

This program is available to people living with dementia or with significant memory loss, who are relatively mobile and able to transfer independently.

What does it cost?

As our program is subsidised funding from the Commonwealth Government, participants who are registered with My Aged Care are eligable for the subsidised rate. This is typically between $15 and $22 per day. Home Care Package fees are between $120 and $130.

Monday  9.30am to 2.30pm - In House program 

People 65 years and over. Themed program each week, quizzes, crosswords, music, gentle exercise, games, gardening and art/craft. 

Tuesday: 9.30am to 3pm   Out and About program.

Younger Onset Dementia and people over 65 years with minimal mobility issues. Ability to get on and off a bus and walk some distance is essential.

Wednesday: 9.30am to 3pm  In House program.

Friendship Group. Social interaction, art/craft and music.

Thursday: 9.30am to 3pm In House program
Themed program each week, quizzes, crosswords, music, gentle exercise, games and art/craft,gardening.

Friday: 9.30am to 3pm Out and About program.

Lunch is provided each day.

Our community bus is available to assist with travel to and from the centre, depending on how far pariticipants live and if there is a seat available.
