  • Part-time (0.4 FTE), 12-month maternity leave contract
  • Co-located at Cranbourne East Secondary College on the lands of the Bunurong People
  • $53.28 - $61.06 p/Hour + 12% Super + Generous Salary Packaging benefits of up to $18,550

Join our dynamic headspace team and work alongside a passionate group of Allied Health Professionals. You’ll collaborate closely with the school wellbeing team, parents, families, and external services to make a meaningful difference in the lives of students from Years 7–12.

As part of our co-located service, you’ll enjoy the unique opportunity to work on campus, delivering counselling directly to students in a familiar and supportive environment. You’ll form part of our School Services Team, who connects with multiple schools across the Casey Cardinia region. School Services Team co-locates and works closely with headspace centres in Narre Warren and Pakenham.


Your role, your impact
As a Psychologist at headspace, you will:

  • Manage a caseload of students referred by the school wellbeing team
  • Provide short to medium-term counselling for young people experiencing low to moderate mental health challenges
  • Deliver evidence-based psychological interventions to students and families
  • Complete mental state examinations, risk assessments, and discipline-specific assessments
  • Coordinate care for students with complex needs, working with external services as required
  • Engage young people in early help seeking and create seamless treatment pathways
  • Maintain clinical notes and care plans using the designated Client Management System
  • Provide group programs and participate in community awareness activities (e.g., RU OK Day, Mental Health Month)
  • Support and train school staff through secondary consultation and professional development


Who we’re looking for
You’ll thrive in this role if you have:

  • Full Registration with AHPRA as a minimum General Psychologist
  • Experience working with young people and families in a school or community setting
  • Skills in delivering evidence-based interventions and group programs
  • Highly developed interpersonal skills with the ability to build strong relationships with school staff, families, and external services
  • Ability to work autonomously and as part of a multidisciplinary team


What will make you stand out

  • Experience working with young people and families from diverse backgrounds, including LGBTIQA+, ATSI, refugees, neurodivergent people, and people with disabilities
  • Experience in community awareness and engagement activities
  • Familiarity with the HEADSS assessment tool
