Expressions of Interest: headspace Psychologist - Private Practice

Job description

Job Description

  • Immediate referrals available – no room rental or leasing charges!
  • Multiple locations and office space (Narre warren & Pakenham) available
  • Flexibility to work days & hours that suit you across Monday to Saturday

headspace Pakenham and Narre Warren are inviting Expressions of Interest from Registered Psychologists with full AHPRA registration to deliver private practice services to young people as part of our high‑demand service. With current wait times of just 2–4 weeks, you’ll step into an established referral stream from day one.

You’ll be based across our Pakenham and Narre Warren sites, with dedicated office space available at both locations.

These contractor roles offer genuine flexibility, allowing you to choose the days and hours that work for you, Monday to Saturday. Whether you’re looking to supplement existing private or public work or gradually expand your practice, you can contract with us for as little as one day per week.

This is a meaningful opportunity to broaden your scope, stay connected to a supportive clinical environment, and make a real difference to young people in your local community.

Why join headspace?
You’ll become part of a supportive, multidisciplinary team where collaboration is central to everything we do. Our psychologists work alongside experienced clinicians, GPs, nurses, and administrative staff to deliver coordinated, high‑quality care.

We offer:

  • A steady stream of referrals
  • No rent or room hire fees
  • Access to allocated consulting rooms across multiple locations
  • Strong Clinical Lead support, including guidance with complex presentations, single‑session interventions, secondary consultations and risk management
  • Holiday cover
  • The reassurance of never working in isolation

Our comprehensive administrative and clinical infrastructure allows you to focus on what matters most — your clients.

Your role, your impact
In this role, you will:

  • Provide high‑quality, person‑centred counselling and focused psychological strategies to young people aged 12–25
  • Deliver services to young people who have already been assessed and are ready to engage in therapy
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary team members to support coordinated care

As a contractor, you’ll be supported with:

  • Full administrative support, including reception, bookings, reminders, and billing
  • Fully web‑based clinical software with IT support
  • Co‑located General Practitioners for integrated care

About You
We’re keen to hear from experienced Psychologists who are passionate about improving the health and wellbeing of young people.

To be considered, you will need:

  • An approved tertiary qualification in Psychology with current, unrestricted AHPRA registration
  • Eligibility to provide Medicare Benefits Schedule (MBS) services
  • Willingness to obtain or provide required compliance documentation, including:
    • National Police Check
    • Working with Children Check
    • COVID‑19 vaccination evidence
  • Your own clinical equipment (unless otherwise specified in your agreement)
  • Professional indemnity insurance and an ABN
  • Australian citizenship, permanent residency, or a valid work visa (work eligibility will be checked as part of the recruitment process)
