Join a passionate, multidisciplinary team delivering person-centred mental health care as part of the new Toowoomba Integrated Mental Health Service - Wattle House, an innovative partnership between Each, Wellways, Queensland Program of Assistance to Survivors of Torture and Trauma (QPASTT) and Goondir Health Services.
Your role, your impact
As a Psychologist in the Toowoomba Integrated Mental Health Service, you’ll deliver high-quality psychological therapies to individuals experiencing moderate to increasing mental health needs.
Working within a multidisciplinary consortium model, you’ll provide evidence-based interventions, comprehensive assessments, and coordinated care that supports recovery, wellbeing, and connection to the right services, with a strong focus on trauma‑informed, culturally safe practice.
Key responsibilities:
- Provide psychological assessment and therapeutic interventions using evidence-based approaches such as CBT, ACT, DBT, motivational interviewing, mindfulness, relaxation strategies, and group programs.
- Conduct comprehensive mental health and mental state assessments to inform collaborative treatment planning.
- Build strong therapeutic alliances and support client-led goal setting and recovery planning.
- Deliver psychoeducation, crisis response and de‑escalation, and brief interventions as required.
- Participate in multidisciplinary team care, clinical reviews, case conferences, and secondary consultations.
- Develop and maintain effective referral pathways with consortia partners and external stakeholders to ensure integrated, holistic care.
- Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation in line with legislative, quality, and governance requirements.
- Contribute to service reporting, performance monitoring, audits, accreditation processes, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Who we’re looking for
You’ll bring strong clinical capability and professional judgement, with the ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a consortium setting.
We’re looking for someone with:
- Significant experience providing psychological therapies and assessments within mental health settings.
- Demonstrated ability to work with people experiencing moderate to increasing acuity, including complex presentations, dual diagnosis, and comorbidities.
- Strong understanding of trauma‑informed, recovery‑oriented practice and the social determinants of mental health.
- Experience working within not‑for‑profit or health settings, with sound knowledge of clinical governance, compliance, and quality standards.
- Excellent communication, engagement and stakeholder collaboration skills.
Minimum 2–3 years’ post‑qualification clinical experience is required.
Qualifications
- Tertiary qualification in Psychology.
- Current AHPRA registration (mandatory).
- Current state-based driver’s licence.
